Overview | Day-by-Day Itinerary
This unique journey through the heart of Egypt takes us to places that first came to life from the waters of the Nile. The great ancient civilizations of Egypt flourished along the banks with its fertile soil leaving us legacies of breathtaking art and architecture of enduring grandeur that with all our modern technology cannot be replicated. Even The ancient temples continue to evoke a consciousness of the sacred. Our journey begins in the great and lively city of Cairo, where we trace the beginnings of Christianity through the apostle St. Mark and the earliest days of Islam at the spectacular Mosque of Muhammad Ali.

"These sites that call forth reverence and awe and humility and wonder, we make them sacred, and the ancient ties are never lost, the oldest voices calling from within stones." James D. Houston
The stones of the geometrically precise pyramids speak to us of a time and place when all of life was informed by the sacred. Moving at a slower pace on the Nile River we may sense a timeless beauty and truth as we visit the grand temples and the haunting Valley of the Kings and Queens. As we move along the Nile to trace the source of life for these peoples, we may sense a swelling within us of "what or who is my source of life?"
